CAP ROIG GARDENS

Located between the towns of Palafrugell and Mont-ras, the Cap Roig Gardens are a unique space in the Mediterranean. This 20-hectare site boasts around 800 botanical species from all around the world and around 20 sculptures from renowned artists. The gardens are the stage of one of the most iconic summer music festivals, the Cap Roig Festival

The history of this space dates back to 1927 when the Russian colonel Nicolai Woevodsky and the English aristocrat Dorothy Webster came to the Costa Brava seeking a place to live and build their dream. After years of effort and work they managed to build these unique gardens where nature and peace of mind reign supreme. unique garden where nature and tranquillity reign supreme.

In 1969 Woevodsky and Webster transferred the entire gardens with the condition that the landscape and architectural heritage would be preserved. Their ideal is still with us today thanks to the Fundació ”La Caixa”.

Cap Roig Castle has an underground auditorium and meeting rooms for organising reflection activities. Both the sculpture park, with works by great contemporary masters, and the Cap Roig Festival, which brings together big names from the international scene, making this idyllic setting a benchmark  landscape and tourist attractions of the Costa Brava.
